In 2023, supported by funding from the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE), Child Care Services Association (CCSA) embarked on a significant initiative: the North Carolina Early Childhood Workforce Study. Covering every county in the state, this study delves into the insights of directors, teachers, assistant teachers, and family child care providers. The report highlights key findings from these participants and offers a comparative analysis with CCSA’s previous studies conducted in 2019, 2015, 2014, 2011, and 2003. Notably, the data collection for this study took place against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing unique perspectives on the evolving landscape of early childhood education.
